The Boss Hog X transcends tradition with a double finish inspired by their land of milk and honey. Each barrel of Straight Rye Whiskey is aged in new American Oak before completing its journey in two unorthodox finishing barrels.
The first is seasoned with WhistlePig's own experimental spirit – distilled from rye and whey, infused with aromatic resins from the genera commonly known as Frankincense and Myrrh – delivering notes of crème brulee, lemongrass and rosemary to the final whiskey. The second and final finish is aged in craft mead casks, offering a mellow, round-bodied finish with hints of red berries and freshly crushed black pepper.
The result – thousands of years’ worth of wonder condensed into a bottle of biblical proportions, righteously rendered at barrel proof.
About the Brand
WhistlePig began with the purchase of a farm in 2007, and after a few years of deep consideration and personal reflection the team at Whistle Pig committed themselves to crafting the world’s finest and most interesting rye whiskies. With help from Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, they discovered and purchased an incredible stock of 10 year old blending whiskey in Canada that was being profoundly misused. That initial stock, for which they are forever grateful, is what kicked off their grand adventure.
