From the Gaelic Leim an Mhadaidh, the town of Limavady was named for a legendary leap across the River Roe by a great Irish wolfhound to warn his clan of enemy ambush.

Its namesake whiskey celebrates Limavady's next leap - the greatest in Irish whiskey - under the banner of the leaping dog.
